This residence, set along the vibrant waterways of the Newport Bay, epitomizes that with its open-air central courtyard surrounded by fully-retractable glass paneling. It becomes a truly blurred indoor-outdoor experience, amplified through the curation of art, furniture and materiality executed without the barriers.
No matter the time of day, this home invites one to move throughout the space with ease. The lines between indoor and outdoor are focused around the central courtyard, the waterway and boats below, the art collection, and the sculptural tree in the courtyard.
This digital art installation by artist Jennifer Steinkamp portrays flowers drifting in the breeze in the style of a 16th century Dutch Masters painting and activates the central courtyard in the evening.
