Set against the Camelback Mountains in Arizona, this residence was meant to be one with the environment. A palette of naturally patinated metals begins outside and transitions into the interior, and their warmth sets the tone for the rest of the materials used throughout. However, in an effort to bring a sense of fun and levity to the spaces, the furniture selections feature curves and layered details, echoing the forms sense in the surrounding nature.
The desire to blend the landscape into the interior became the overriding design principle. This is seen throughout, including the shade of wood used for the ceilings, specifically chosen to match the Camelback Mountains and lead the eye out to the staggering view.
The best seats in the house, beyond the knife edge pool, are four Paola Lenti chairs arranged for a front row view of the majestic scenery.
